Clinics

On-site registration is available; however, clinics and tours fill up fast. Pre-registration is encouraged. Check-in at the Registration Tent prior to the clinics and tours is required. Clinic participants must be at least age 16, and may bring their own boat or rent one (Clinics only) ( Tours and Kick Start your Kayak or SUP Boats are provided). Bring a swim suit, sun screen, water bottle and a pair of shoes that will get wet. Clinic and Tour fees include all Festival Activities. Registration  is highly suggested because of limited space.  Wet suits are available for rent on site for $5.

 You can rent a boat for clinic only on-line or on-site. 

Clinics:

**Safety and Rescue Clinic: ( Saturday only,1:00 – 3:00 pm.. 2 hours)  This clinic is an introduction to basic rescue skills that all sea Kayakers should know and develop. What safety gear should you carry? How so you use it? Want to learn “go to” self rescues and know how to perform as assisted rescue? We will discuss and demonstrate safety equipment and demonstrate several self-rescues and assisted rescues. Dress for water immersion! This is your chance to learn, share and practice in a controlled but cold setting. All participants must have their own boat or rent one.

KICK START YOUR KAYAK CLINIC / TOUR: (Saturday only 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm) course is designed to provide beginner paddlers the sufficient skill and knowledge so that they can safely enjoy the sport of sea kayaking on flat water. We will begin with basic introduction and incorporate on water instruction throughout a three mile tour. You will learn what to do in the event of a capsize “dry land wet exits’. Your instructor will discuss and demonstrate assisted rescue methods. You will learn basic paddle strokes including forward touring stroke, reverse strok, forward and reverse sweep, in-water recovery draw stroke and bracing for stability.

KICK START YOUR STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD: (Saturday only 1:00 pm to 2:30pm ) course is designed to provide beginner paddlers the sufficient skill and knowledge so that they can safely enjoy the sport of SUP on flat water. We will begin with basic introduction and incorporate on water instruction throughout a three mile tour. You will learn how to get on and off of your board both at shore and in deep water. Your instructor will discuss and demonstrate assisted rescue methods. You will learn about paddling technique and strokes, awareness of board trim, turning skills, and different stance options.
